Biography:

George Tarleton was a technician for Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.). He was subjected to a mutative process designed to increase his intelligence for weapon creation. The experiment was successful, but at a terrible cost. His head grew grotesquely large, supported by a specialized exoskeleton, and his body became atrophied.

Renamed M.O.D.O.K. (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing), Tarleton gained vast psionic powers and an insatiable hunger for power. He rebelled against A.I.M. and seized control, becoming a recurring threat to various heroes.

M.O.D.O.K. first appeared in *Tales of Suspense* #93 (September 1967).
