M.O.D.O.K., short for Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing, is a supervillain appearing in Marvel Comics, primarily associated with Captain America and the Avengers. Originally, he was George Tarleton, a technician working for Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.).
Tarleton was subjected to a mutagenic process intended to enhance his intelligence for scientific research.
