Lurtz is a fictional character from Peter Jackson's film adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's *The Lord of the Rings*. He is an Uruk-hai bred in the pits of Isengard by Saruman the White.
Lurtz makes his first appearance in *The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring* movie. He is the first Uruk-hai to be born from the mud, and he immediately demonstrates his superior strength and savagery.
As the leader of the first scouting party of Uruk-hai sent to capture the hobbits, Lurtz is a brutal and relentless warrior. He mortally wounds Boromir with several arrows, ultimately leading to Boromir's death.
Lurtz is eventually killed by Aragorn in a fierce duel, marking the end of his brief but impactful role in the narrative. His creation showcases Saruman's growing power and corruption in Middle Earth.
