Sailor Moon, also known as Usagi Tsukino in her civilian identity, is the central protagonist of the popular Japanese anime and manga series of the same name. Created by Naoko Takeuchi, she is a seemingly ordinary, albeit clumsy and crybabyish, junior high school student.

Her life takes a dramatic turn when she encounters a talking black cat named Luna. Luna reveals that Usagi is the reincarnation of Princess Serenity, the princess of the Moon Kingdom, and that she is destined to become Sailor Moon, a powerful Sailor Guardian tasked with protecting the Earth from evil forces.

Throughout the series, Sailor Moon awakens the powers of her fellow Sailor Guardians and, along with the mysterious Tuxedo Mask, battles numerous villains who seek to steal the Legendary Silver Crystal. She matures from a reluctant hero into a strong and determined leader, ultimately embracing her destiny as a symbol of love, justice, and hope. Her journey culminates in her ascending to the role of Neo-Queen Serenity, the future ruler of Crystal Tokyo.
