Biography:
Mara Jade Skywalker, a prominent character in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, first appeared in Timothy Zahn's 1991 novel, *Heir to the Empire*, the first book in the Thrawn trilogy.
Initially, Mara Jade served Emperor Palpatine as "The Emperor's Hand," a highly skilled assassin and secret agent. Trained in the ways of the Force, though not a formal Sith, she was fiercely loyal to the Emperor.
Following Palpatine's death, Mara was driven by his final command: to kill Luke Skywalker. However, circumstances and shared experiences led her down a different path. She gradually relinquished her hatred and became an ally to Luke.
Mara eventually embraced the light side of the Force, becoming a Jedi Master. She married Luke Skywalker and together they had a son, Ben Skywalker. Mara Jade Skywalker became a beloved figure among Star Wars fans before the Expanded Universe was rebranded as Legends.
