Lu Su was a prominent strategist and diplomat serving under the warlord Sun Quan during the late Eastern Han dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period of China. He is best known for his role in shaping the strategic alliance between Sun Quan and Liu Bei, which ultimately led to the defeat of Cao Cao at the Battle of Red Cliffs.

Born in Dongcheng County, Lu Su displayed early signs of intelligence and a commitment to justice. He initially served under Yuan Shu, but later joined Sun Quan after recognizing Sun's potential. He quickly rose in prominence within Sun Quan's administration, becoming a key advisor on military and political matters.

Lu Su's diplomatic skills were crucial in maintaining the alliance between Sun Quan and Liu Bei. He advocated for a cooperative relationship, understanding that their combined strength was essential to counter Cao Cao's overwhelming power. He succeeded Zhou Yu after Zhou Yu's death.

Lu Su died at the age of 46. His strategic foresight and dedication to the alliance with Liu Bei had a lasting impact on the political landscape of the Three Kingdoms period.
