Flashback Shredder is a character in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, primarily appearing in the 2003 animated series. He isn't the primary antagonist but a crucial figure in the backstory, particularly concerning Splinter and the original Shredder, Oroku Saki.

He is the adopted older brother of Oroku Saki. Flashback Shredder, whose true name is never explicitly revealed, was a kind and honorable warrior. He taught Saki the ways of ninjutsu and served as a mentor.

Tragically, Flashback Shredder was killed during a confrontation meant for Saki. He was deceived by a rival clan, causing Saki to believe he was murdered at their hands and driving Saki down a path of vengeance. Saki then took on the Shredder mantle and helmet, continuing a cycle of violence.
