Hyperion is the name of several characters appearing in Marvel Comics, generally conceived as homages to DC Comics' Superman. One notable version first appeared in The Avengers #69 (October 1969).
This Hyperion, often referred to as Earth-712 Hyperion, is a member of the Squadron Supreme, a team analogous to the Justice League. He hails from a parallel Earth destroyed by nuclear war. As a baby, he was sent to Earth in a spacecraft and raised by a human couple.
