Dexter Morgan, portrayed by Michael C. Hall, is the central character of the TV show Dexter, which premiered in 2006. He is a Miami Metro Police Department blood spatter analyst with a double life.
Orphaned at a young age after witnessing his mother's brutal murder, Dexter was adopted by Harry Morgan, a Miami police officer. Harry recognized Dexter's homicidal tendencies and taught him a "code" to channel his urges.
This code dictates that Dexter can only kill those who are themselves murderers and have evaded justice. He meticulously plans and executes these killings, disposing of the bodies in the ocean.
