Biography:
Han Solo, a pivotal character in the Star Wars saga, first appears in the 1977 film, *Star Wars: A New Hope*. He is portrayed as a cynical smuggler, driven by self-interest and financial gain. Initially working alongside his Wookiee co-pilot Chewbacca, Han is hired by Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi to transport them to Alderaan.
During the events of *The Empire Strikes Back*, Han's character undergoes significant development. While still retaining his roguish charm, he demonstrates a growing sense of responsibility and commitment to the Rebel Alliance. He becomes increasingly involved in the fight against the Galactic Empire and forms a romantic relationship with Princess Leia Organa.
Near the end of *The Empire Strikes Back*, Han Solo is betrayed by Lando Calrissian and captured by Darth Vader. He is then frozen in carbonite and handed over to the bounty hunter Boba Fett.
