Lex Luthor, a brilliant but ruthless businessman and scientist, became an Orange Lantern in the DC comic universe. This version of Luthor, driven by insatiable avarice, briefly wielded the Orange Lantern ring, powered by the emotional spectrum of greed.

Luthor's tenure as an Orange Lantern first appeared in *Blackest Night* #1 (2009) as part of a larger crossover event. During the Blackest Night storyline, various characters were chosen by different Lantern Corps rings, and Luthor's overwhelming desire for power and control made him a suitable candidate for the Orange Lantern Corps, led by Larfleeze.

While possessing the ring, Luthor's abilities were greatly enhanced, allowing him to create constructs fueled by his greed. His insatiable hunger for more ultimately proved detrimental, making him a difficult member of any team. He eventually relinquished the ring.
