Lex Luthor, the brilliant but ruthless CEO of LexCorp and Metropolis's most infamous nemesis of Superman, briefly wielded the power of the Orange Lantern ring. During the "Blackest Night" event, the Orange Lantern Corps, fueled by avarice, was desperately seeking new members.

Luthor, always driven by an insatiable hunger for power and control, became the prime target of the Orange Ring. The ring, detecting his profound avarice, chose him, granting him the powers of the Orange Lantern Corps. This gave Luthor immense constructs powered by his desires, including replicating deceased versions of his enemies like Superman.

His time as an Orange Lantern was short-lived. The immense power of the ring, fueled by Lex's overwhelming avarice, overwhelmed and corrupted him. His newfound power was eventually usurped by Larfleeze, the sole member of the Orange Lantern Corps, who reclaimed his stolen ring and its inherent power.
