Biography:
Arnim Zola, first appearing in Captain America #208 (April 1977), is a brilliant but amoral biochemist. A Swiss scientist obsessed with genetics and cloning, Zola developed techniques of transferring human consciousness into cloned bodies.
This allowed him to cheat death by transferring his own mind, most famously into a robot body with his face displayed on its chest. He then worked for the Red Skull and various other villainous organizations.
Zola's scientific advancements often involved creating monstrous creatures and super-soldiers for his employers, making him a persistent threat to Captain America and other heroes.
