Jor-El is a Kryptonian scientist featured in The Lego Batman Movie. He is the biological father of Superman, sending him to Earth as Krypton faced imminent destruction.

In the film, Jor-El's artificial intelligence is used to guide Superman and inform him that Batman is the only one who can save Gotham City.

Though he appears as a disembodied voice and image, his actions and message drive much of the film's plot. His hope for his son's future and the necessity of teamwork are key themes delivered through his character.
