Adam Warlock first appeared in Fantastic Four #66–67 (1967) as "Him." He is an artificial being created by the Enclave, a group of scientists seeking to create a perfect human.
Originally intended as a template for a new race, Adam Warlock rebelled against his creators upon realizing their evil intentions. He then sought his own purpose in the universe.
Adam Warlock possesses immense cosmic powers, including superhuman strength, speed, durability, and energy manipulation. He is often associated with the Soul Gem (later known as the Soul Stone), one of the Infinity Gems, which grants him additional abilities, most notably the power to trap souls.
