Red Tornado is a superhero character appearing in DC Comics, known for his artificial intelligence and wind-manipulating abilities. His first appearance was in Justice League of America #64 (August 1968). Initially introduced as an android created by the supervillain T.O. Morrow, he later became the vessel for an air elemental.

The character's origin involves a complex merging of science and magic. Professor Ivo, seeking immortality, created an android named Red Twister to infiltrate the Justice Society of America, but the android rebelled. Subsequently, an air elemental was drawn to the android body, resulting in the creation of the sentient Red Tornado.

Red Tornado has been a long-standing member of the Justice League and has often struggled with his identity as an artificial being. His powers include the ability to create powerful winds, fly at high speeds, and generate cyclones. He often expresses confusion with human concepts such as love, relationships, and death.
