Biography:
Biggs Darklighter was a childhood friend of Luke Skywalker from Tatooine. He dreamed of escaping the planet's monotonous existence and joined the Imperial Academy to become a pilot.
While serving as an Imperial freighter pilot, Biggs defected to the Rebel Alliance. This act of rebellion proved pivotal in strengthening the Alliance's forces with his piloting skills and insider knowledge.
He became a Red Squadron pilot, flying an X-wing fighter. Biggs played a crucial role in the Battle of Yavin, providing essential support for Luke during the attack on the Death Star.
Tragically, Biggs was killed during the Battle of Yavin. While attempting to draw fire away from Luke, he was shot down by a pursuing TIE fighter. His sacrifice allowed Luke to continue his attack run and ultimately destroy the Death Star, a pivotal victory for the Rebel Alliance.
