Biography:
Biggs Darklighter is a fictional character from the Star Wars universe, first appearing in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977). He is a childhood friend of Luke Skywalker from Tatooine.
Biggs initially left Tatooine to attend the Imperial Academy, becoming a pilot for the Empire. However, he secretly harbored a desire to join the Rebel Alliance. Prior to the events of the film, he defected to the Rebellion along with several other pilots.
As a member of the Rebel Alliance, Biggs became a pilot with Red Squadron. He participated in the Battle of Yavin, providing support to Luke during the attack on the Death Star. Tragically, Biggs was killed in action during the battle, sacrificing himself to protect Luke and allowing him the opportunity to destroy the Death Star.
