Arnim Zola is a fictional supervillain appearing in Marvel Comics, most notably as an adversary of Captain America. Born in Switzerland in 1923, Zola was a brilliant but morally bankrupt biochemist obsessed with genetic engineering and cloning.
His experiments led to the creation of advanced lifeforms and monstrous creatures, many used to further his own nefarious goals. Zola pioneered the technique of transferring his consciousness into a cloned body, most famously inhabiting a robotic body with his face displayed on a chest-mounted screen. This allowed him to achieve functional immortality.
Throughout his comic book history, Zola has been affiliated with numerous villainous organizations, including the Red Skull's Nazi regime and Baron Zemo's Masters of Evil. He consistently schemes to create chaos and advance his twisted scientific pursuits, often posing a significant threat to Captain America and the Avengers.
