Kaecilius is a Marvel Comics character, primarily known for his appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film, Doctor Strange (2016), portrayed by Mads Mikkelsen.
In the movie, Kaecilius is a former Master of the Mystic Arts who was once a student of the Ancient One. Disillusioned with her teachings and her perceived hypocrisy, he becomes a zealot seeking immortality and power through Dormammu, a powerful being from the Dark Dimension.
Driven by his desire to transcend death, Kaecilius leads a group of followers, known as Zealots, to destroy the protective barriers between realities, ultimately aiming to bring Dormammu to Earth.
