Kaecilius is a character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically appearing in the 2016 movie Doctor Strange. He is portrayed by actor Mads Mikkelsen.
Kaecilius was a Master of the Mystic Arts and a former student of the Ancient One. Disillusioned with her teachings and believing she was withholding the true potential of magic by drawing power from the Dark Dimension, he becomes a rogue sorcerer.
He forms a group of zealots and seeks to bring Dormammu, the ruler of the Dark Dimension, to Earth. He opposes Doctor Strange and his allies in his mission.
