Kid Flash is a superhero mantle used by several characters in DC Comics, most notably associated with the Flash family. The original Kid Flash is Wally West, who first appeared as Kid Flash in *The Flash* #110 (1960). Wally gained his powers in a similar accident to Barry Allen (The Flash), involving chemicals and a bolt of lightning.
As Kid Flash, Wally served as the Flash's sidekick and a founding member of the Teen Titans. He possessed super-speed abilities, including running at incredible velocities and vibrating through objects.
Wally West eventually took on the mantle of the Flash after Barry Allen's death in *Crisis on Infinite Earths*, continuing his heroic legacy. Other characters, like Bart Allen, have also used the Kid Flash identity. The character has grown to have incredible legacy in the comics and continues to be a beloved hero.
