Uchiha Itachi is a prominent character from the *Naruto* manga and anime series, first appearing in Chapter 139 of the manga and Episode 81 of the anime.

He is portrayed as a complex figure, initially introduced as an antagonist who massacred his entire clan, sparing only his younger brother, Sasuke. This act was presented as a means to prevent a coup d'état that would have plunged the Hidden Leaf Village into war.
