Master Roshi, also known as the Turtle Hermit, is a prominent character in the Dragon Ball franchise. He is introduced as an elderly martial arts master who trained Goku and Krillin in the art of Kamehameha. His first appearance is in Dragon Ball episode 3, "The Nimbus Cloud of Roshi".
Despite his lecherous and eccentric personality, Roshi is a wise and powerful fighter. He was once one of the strongest men on Earth.
