Mola Ram is the primary antagonist in the 1984 film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. He is a Thuggee high priest in Pankot Palace, India.
Mola Ram leads a resurgence of the Thuggee cult, a group devoted to the goddess Kali. He enslaves children to mine for Sankara Stones, believed to grant immense power.
Known for his brutal methods, Mola Ram uses brainwashing and human sacrifice to maintain control. A signature act is ripping out a victim's heart while they are still alive as an offering to Kali.
His aim is to use the Sankara Stones to establish Kali as the supreme power and rule the world. He directly opposes Indiana Jones and his companions, Willie Scott and Short Round, who seek to stop his evil plans and return the Stones to their rightful place.
