Biography:
Kanan Jarrus is a Jedi Knight who survived Order 66, a purge that decimated the Jedi Order. His first appearance was in the animated TV show *Star Wars Rebels*.
Born Caleb Dume, he was a Padawan learner when the Clone Wars ended. After his master was killed, Caleb went into hiding and adopted the name Kanan Jarrus to conceal his identity from the Empire.
During his time in hiding, Kanan abandoned the Jedi ways to survive. Years later, he meets Hera Syndulla and joins her crew aboard the *Ghost*, eventually embracing his past as a Jedi and becoming a mentor to Ezra Bridger.
Kanan is a key figure in the early Rebel Alliance, fighting against the Empire and helping to inspire hope in a galaxy under Imperial rule. He is also well known for his sacrifices during the war, losing his sight in a battle with Maul, but later finding a deeper connection to the force.
