Killer Frost is a DC Comics character who has been known to be a foe of Firestorm and other DC heroes. Several different women have assumed the identity.
The original Killer Frost, Crystal Frost, first appeared in Firestorm #3 (1978). She was a student of Professor Martin Stein and became Killer Frost after an accident in a thermal experiment locked her in a state where she needed to absorb heat to survive.
Another notable Killer Frost is Louise Lincoln, who was also a colleague of Stein. She recreated the experiment that transformed Crystal Frost, becoming the second Killer Frost.
A third Killer Frost, Caitlin Snow, was introduced later. She is a scientist who gained her powers after an attack in an Arctic research facility. After being infected by a virus and experimented on she transforms into a vampire-like being whose powers are similar to the other Killer Frosts.
