X-Ray, whose real name is James Darnell, is a Marvel Comics supervillain. He is a member of the U-Foes, a team of four individuals who deliberately exposed themselves to radiation in an attempt to gain superpowers like the Fantastic Four.

Darnell gained the ability to generate unknown forms of radiation. These radiations are invisible and allow him to harm people and alter matter at will. His exposure also permanently altered his appearance, rendering him translucent, with his bones constantly visible, hence the name "X-Ray."

Alongside the other members of the U-Foes, Vector, Vapor, and Ironclad, X-Ray frequently battles the Hulk. The U-Foes' quest for power and recognition often puts them at odds with the green goliath and other heroes in the Marvel Universe. While powerful, X-Ray's arrogance and reliance on the other U-Foes often contribute to their defeats.
