Tigra is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics. She first appeared as the human Greer Grant Nelson in Claws of the Cat #1 (1972), and later as Tigra in Giant-Size Creatures #1 (1974).
Greer Grant initially worked as a lab assistant to Dr. Tumolo. Following the doctor's death, she undergoes a procedure that transforms her into the Cat, a costumed heroine with enhanced agility and strength.
Later, she undergoes a mystical ritual involving the Cat People, an ancient race of feline humanoids. This second transformation grants her distinctly feline features and abilities, leading her to adopt the name Tigra. She possesses heightened senses, reflexes, agility, and retractable claws.
