Christine Chapel is a character in the Star Trek franchise, primarily known for her role in Star Trek: The Original Series. Played by Majel Barrett Roddenberry, she serves as a nurse aboard the USS Enterprise under the command of Captain James T. Kirk.
Chapel's dedication to her patients and the ship's crew is a defining characteristic. Originally, she joined Starfleet to find Dr. Roger Korby, a man she was deeply in love with. Korby, a scientist, had disappeared while on an archaeological expedition.
Throughout the series, Chapel's unrequited feelings for Mr. Spock, the ship's logical science officer, are a recurring theme.
