Norman Osborn is a prominent character within Marvel Comics, most notably recognized as the archenemy of Spider-Man. He first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #14 (July 1964).

Osborn is a brilliant scientist and ruthless businessman who runs Oscorp, a major corporation. His ambition and drive for power lead him down a dangerous path, experimenting on himself with a performance-enhancing formula.

This formula grants him enhanced strength, speed, and intelligence, but also drives him insane, transforming him into the Green Goblin. As the Green Goblin, he dons a green costume and uses advanced technology like a glider and pumpkin bombs to terrorize New York City and specifically target Spider-Man.

Osborn's motivations often stem from a desire to prove his superiority and break Spider-Man, viewing him as a personal obstacle and a threat to his own ambitions. His actions have had devastating consequences for Spider-Man's life and those around him.
