The Jewel Thief, also known as Remy LeBeau, is better recognized as the X-Men member Gambit. He was born in New Orleans and abandoned at birth due to his glowing red eyes, a sign of his mutant abilities.

Raised within the Thieves Guild, Gambit excelled as a master thief, showcasing his mutant power to charge objects with kinetic energy, causing them to explode upon impact. He primarily uses playing cards as projectiles, charging them with explosive force.

Gambit's past is filled with moral ambiguity, having engaged in criminal activities before joining the X-Men. He struggled to control his powers and sought help from Mister Sinister, who surgically altered his brain, significantly reducing his power but also his control. This pact would later haunt him.

Despite his shady past, Gambit has proven himself a valuable member of the X-Men, fighting alongside them against various threats to mutant and human existence. He is often depicted as charming, charismatic, and skilled in hand-to-hand combat.
