Rogue, also known as Mutant Power Thief and often associated with the X-Men, first appeared in Avengers Annual #10 (1981). She is a mutant possessing the ability to absorb the powers, memories, and life force of others through skin-to-skin contact.

Originally a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants under Mystique's guidance, Rogue eventually sought redemption and joined the X-Men. However, her power made physical intimacy impossible for a long period, causing significant emotional distress and isolation.

Rogue's powers initially proved uncontrollable, leading to permanent absorption of abilities and personalities. Through dedicated training and self-control, she learned to manage her abilities more effectively, becoming a valuable member of the X-Men and developing close relationships with her teammates.
