Scottie Pippen is a retired American professional basketball player, renowned for his time with the Chicago Bulls. Born September 25, 1965, in Hamburg, Arkansas, he played 17 seasons in the NBA.
Pippen was drafted fifth overall by the Seattle SuperSonics in 1987, but was traded to the Bulls that same night. He became a vital component of the Bulls' dynasty alongside Michael Jordan, winning six NBA championships (1991-1993, 1996-1998).
Known for his exceptional all-around game, Pippen excelled on both offense and defense. He was a seven-time NBA All-Star, a seven-time All-NBA selection, and an eight-time All-Defensive team selection. His versatility, athleticism, and basketball IQ made him one of the greatest small forwards in NBA history.
Beyond the Bulls, Pippen also played for the Houston Rockets and the Portland Trail Blazers. He was a two-time Olympic gold medalist with the United States national team (1992, 1996). He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
