Biography:
Brian May is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and astrophysicist, best known as the lead guitarist of the rock band Queen. He was born on July 19, 1947, in Hampton, London.
May co-founded Queen in 1970 with singer Freddie Mercury and drummer Roger Taylor. He is known for his distinctive guitar playing style, often employing multi-layered harmonies and his self-built guitar, the "Red Special." He wrote and co-wrote many of Queen's biggest hits, including "We Will Rock You," "Tie Your Mother Down," "Who Wants to Live Forever," and "The Show Must Go On."
Beyond his musical career, May earned a PhD in astrophysics from Imperial College London in 2007. He has co-authored several scientific publications and is a vocal advocate for animal welfare. He continues to tour with Queen + Adam Lambert and remains active in both music and science.
