Biography:
Candida Doyle (born Candida Mary Doyle, August 25, 1963, Belfast, Northern Ireland) is a keyboardist best known for her long tenure with the British band, Pulp.
Doyle joined Pulp in 1984, replacing keyboardist and violinist, David Hinkler. Her distinct keyboard sounds and atmospheric contributions became an integral part of Pulp's signature sound, particularly during their rise to fame in the 1990s with albums like His 'n' Hers, Different Class, and This Is Hardcore.
Beyond her keyboard work, Doyle also occasionally contributed backing vocals and songwriting ideas to Pulp. She remained a consistent member of the band throughout their various incarnations and reunions, including their most recent comeback in 2023.
Doyle's contribution to Pulp's music is widely recognised, solidifying her as a significant figure in British indie pop and Britpop history.
