Michelle Obama, born Michelle LaVaughn Robinson on January 17, 1964, is an American attorney and author who served as the First Lady of the United States from 2009 to 2017. She is married to Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States.

A Chicago native, Michelle Obama graduated from Princeton University and Harvard Law School. Prior to her role as First Lady, she worked as a lawyer at Sidley & Austin, and in community outreach and development, including roles at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

As First Lady, she championed initiatives focused on healthy families, higher education, global adolescent girls' education, and supporting military families. Her "Let's Move!" campaign aimed to combat childhood obesity, while "Reach Higher" encouraged students to pursue higher education.
