Black Talon, also known as Samuel Barone, is a recurring villain in Marvel Comics, primarily associated with voodoo and zombies. He debuted in Avengers #52 in 1968.

Barone gained his powers through voodoo rituals and experiments with Baron Zemo. These processes resulted in a mastery of voodoo magic, including the ability to animate corpses. He controls these animated corpses as his personal army, often referred to as "zombies" though their animation differs from traditional zombie lore.

Black Talon has frequently worked as a henchman for various supervillains, often utilizing his undead army in their schemes. He has clashed with numerous heroes, including the Avengers, Brother Voodoo, and Spider-Man. His motivations are typically aligned with those of his employers, although he displays a desire for power and recognition himself. He has also led his own voodoo cult and sought to expand his influence.

Despite his recurring appearances, Black Talon is often portrayed as a second-tier villain. His power level fluctuates depending on the writer, but his control over his zombie army remains his defining characteristic.
