D4VE is the protagonist of the science fiction comic book series of the same name, published by IDW Publishing. Created by Ryan Ferrier and Valentin Ramon, the series follows the mundane and surprisingly relatable struggles of a robot living in a dystopian future.

D4VE is a retired war hero. He played a crucial role in defeating alien invaders, becoming a symbol of his robotic society's strength. Now, long after the war, D4VE is bored and disillusioned. He works a soul-crushing office job at a weapons manufacturing company, struggling with existential ennui and a deep sense of unfulfillment.

Despite his powerful robotic frame, D4VE's problems are remarkably human. He grapples with feelings of inadequacy, jealousy, and a longing for something more meaningful in his life. He seeks solace in destructive habits, primarily alcohol consumption and unhealthy relationships. He attempts to reconnect with his estranged son, Junior, reflecting the complexities of fatherhood in a robotic society.

The series humorously and poignantly explores themes of purpose, identity, and the search for meaning in a seemingly meaningless existence, all wrapped within the framework of a science fiction setting.
