Leia Organa, most famously known as Princess Leia, is a key character in the Original Trilogy of *Star Wars* films. She first appeared in *Episode 4: A New Hope*.

Leia is portrayed as a strong-willed and independent leader, deeply committed to the Rebel Alliance's fight against the Galactic Empire. Her courage and intelligence are evident throughout the series.

She is the adopted daughter of Senator Bail Organa of Alderaan and Queen Breha Organa, and secretly the biological daughter of Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader) and Padmé Amidala. This makes her the twin sister of Luke Skywalker. These facts would later come to light.

Leia's initial role is as a princess and senator, but she quickly becomes a vital member of the Rebel Alliance, participating directly in combat and strategic planning.
