Victor Zsasz, often referred to as Mr. Zsasz, is a DC Comics supervillain. He first appeared in Batman: Shadow of the Bat #1 (June 1992).
Zsasz is a serial killer who believes life is meaningless. To "free" his victims from this perceived pointlessness, he murders them. After each kill, Zsasz carves a tally mark onto his own skin, covering his body in scars.
Prior to becoming a killer, Victor Zsasz was a wealthy businessman. After losing his fortune through gambling, he attempted suicide. However, surviving the attempt led him to his nihilistic philosophy.
