Star Sapphire is the identity adopted by several characters in DC Comics, primarily associated with the Green Lantern mythos. The most well-known Star Sapphire is Carol Ferris, Hal Jordan's long-time love interest and owner of Ferris Aircraft.

Carol becomes Star Sapphire when possessed by a parasitic crystal that embodies the violet light of love from the emotional spectrum. This crystal grants her immense power, including flight, energy projection, and the ability to create constructs. As Star Sapphire, Carol often acts as an antagonist to Green Lantern, driven by a corrupted form of love that seeks to possess or control Hal.

Over time, Carol learns to control the Star Sapphire power and eventually becomes a permanent member of the Star Sapphire Corps, wielding the violet light with purpose and conviction.
