Biography:
Constrictor, also known as Frank Payne, is a Marvel Comics supervillain often associated with mercenary groups and criminal organizations. He began his career as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, participating in a program to develop super-agents.
Exposure to experimental bio-chemical compounds altered his physiology, granting him superhuman strength and agility. He was also equipped with a pair of cybernetically controlled, vibranium-laced metal coils which he uses as whips or constricting weapons. These coils are virtually indestructible.
Payne's disillusionment with S.H.I.E.L.D. led him to a life of crime. He has worked as a mercenary for hire, frequently alongside villains such as Taskmaster and Diamondback. He has also been a member of the Serpent Society.
While traditionally portrayed as a villain, Constrictor has, on occasion, displayed a conflicted moral compass. He has sometimes shown a degree of honor and even moments of reluctant heroism. He is primarily known for his brutal efficiency and distinctive weaponry.
