Ms. Marvel (Sharon Ventura) is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics. She debuted as a civilian in The Thing #27 (September 1985) before becoming a superhero.
Ventura began as a stuntwoman with a background in martial arts and a strong desire for adventure. She volunteered for a procedure by the Power Broker to gain superhuman strength and durability, hoping to join the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation.
She later joined the Fantastic Four, initially gaining cosmic powers similar to the original Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) after exposure to cosmic rays. During the Fear Itself storyline, Sharon was transformed into a version of the Thing, after being exposed to a gamma-irradiated version of the same cosmic rays that originally transformed Ben Grimm into The Thing.
Possessing super strength, enhanced durability, and a rocky hide, she allied with other heroes in battling the Serpent and his Worthy. This transformation as a Thing-like creature has persisted, making her a unique and powerful figure in the Marvel Universe.
