Harley Quinn is a fictional character appearing in DC Comics, typically as an accomplice and girlfriend of the Joker. Originally created for *Batman: The Animated Series*, she made her first appearance in the episode "Joker's Favor" (September 1992).
Prior to becoming Harley Quinn, she was Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum. She became fascinated with the Joker and eventually fell in love with him, leading her to help him escape and adopt her Harley Quinn persona.
Often portrayed as bubbly and energetic, Harley Quinn is also highly intelligent and skilled in combat. Her motivations often clash between her desire to please the Joker and her own sense of right and wrong. She is often portrayed as an anti-hero and has appeared in many animated works and Movie portrayals.
