Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad is a fictional character from the Assassin's Creed video game franchise, first appearing as the protagonist in Assassin's Creed (2007).
Born in 1165 in Masyaf, Syria, Altaïr rises through the ranks of the Assassin Brotherhood, becoming a Master Assassin by his mid-twenties. He is initially arrogant and reckless, leading to a disastrous mission that results in demotion.
