Skrulls are a reptilian extraterrestrial race from the Marvel Universe, known for their shape-shifting abilities and long-standing conflict with the Kree Empire. Hailing from the Skrull homeworld of Skrullos, they were once a peaceful species.

However, their society diverged into three distinct races after experimentation by the Celestials: the Eternals-like Deviant Skrulls, the normal Skrulls, and the near-extinct original Skrulls. The Deviant Skrulls, favoring aggression and conquest, rose to power.

Their most notable power is shapeshifting, allowing them to perfectly mimic the appearance and even some powers of other beings. This ability has made them formidable infiltrators and spies, posing a constant threat to Earth and other galactic civilizations.

The Skrulls have been involved in numerous major Marvel storylines, most famously the "Secret Invasion" event, where they secretly replaced key figures within Earth's superhero community, nearly succeeding in their conquest of the planet. Their Emperor is often considered one of the larger antagonists of the Marvel Universe.
