Slade Wilson, better known as Deathstroke the Terminator, is a prominent mercenary and assassin in the DC Universe. He was created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, first appearing in The New Teen Titans #2 in 1980.
Wilson's origin story involves a military career followed by experimental government procedures meant to enhance his physical abilities. These procedures granted him superhuman strength, speed, agility, intellect, and regenerative healing. The procedures however, severely changed his mental state.
Deathstroke frequently serves as an antagonist, most notably to the Teen Titans and Batman. While he is primarily a villain, he sometimes finds himself in anti-heroic roles, often driven by his own code of honor or familial loyalties.
His signature look includes a mask with one eye covered, the result of an injury, and a heavily armored costume. Deathstroke is a master strategist and combatant, proficient in a wide array of weaponry, making him a formidable threat to almost all superheroes.
