Khal Drogo is a significant character in the HBO television series Game of Thrones, based on George R.R. Martin's book series A Song of Ice and Fire. He first appears in the first episode of the series, "Winter Is Coming."
Drogo is a powerful and fearsome Khal, a warlord of the Dothraki people. He commands a vast horde of warriors and is known for his brutal strength and unwavering resolve. His status is demonstrated by his very long braid, which he has never lost in battle.
Initially, he marries Daenerys Targaryen as part of a political arrangement brokered by Illyrio Mopatis. However, their relationship evolves, and they develop a deep love and respect for one another. Drogo teaches Daenerys about Dothraki culture and provides her with the strength and resources to eventually pursue her claim to the Iron Throne.
Drogo's reign is tragically cut short when he suffers a seemingly minor wound that festers and becomes infected. Despite Daenerys' attempts to save him, he succumbs to the infection after a ritual performed by a Maegi goes awry, leaving Daenerys a widow and setting her on a new path.
