André Schürrle is a retired German professional footballer who primarily played as a winger or forward. He was born on November 6, 1990.
Schürrle began his professional career at Mainz 05 before transferring to Bayer Leverkusen in 2011. His performances there earned him a move to Chelsea in 2013.
At Chelsea, while not always a regular starter, he was part of the squad that won the Premier League title in the 2014-15 season. He left Chelsea in 2015 to join VfL Wolfsburg.
Schürrle is perhaps best known for his contribution to Germany's 2014 FIFA World Cup victory. He provided the assist for Mario Götze's winning goal in the final against Argentina. After Wolfsburg, he spent time at Borussia Dortmund, Spartak Moscow (loan), and Fulham (loan) before retiring in 2020 at the age of 29.
